Interim Head of School Announced

St. John’s Episcopal School (Abilene, Texas) is thrilled to announce that Mrs. Katherine (Katie) Rose Gloyna will serve as the school’s Interim Head of School, beginning immediately.
Katie brings to St. John’s 23 years of classroom and administration leadership from Abilene Independent School District, North East and Alamo Heights Independent School Districts in San Antonio and St. John’s Episcopal School, where she served as a classroom teacher and then Director of Curriculum. Since 2001, she has held a wide range of teaching and administrative roles, including the last five years as Facilitator and Instructional Specialist at Craig Middle School. Katie has excelled in her field as a leader among her peers, motivator for colleagues and staff, and a constant advocate for children and education.
“I am deeply honored to have been chosen as the Interim Head of School,” Gloyna said. “It is a privilege to lead and serve the dedicated staff, talented students and their families in our shared pursuit of educational excellence. I am committed to fostering an environment that nurtures growth, innovation, and a strong sense of community, and I look forward to working collaboratively with St. John’s this upcoming school year.”
Gloyna holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University. She is happily married to Myrick Gloyna and they have two sons, James and John.
