January 29, 2024
St. John's is thrilled to announce the opening of its STEM "SmartLab."
Please join us as we unveil the state-of-the-art SmartLab with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on
January 30, 2024, at 9:30 AM. The Smart Lab is designed to inspire curiosity, innovation, and a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This lab will play a crucial role in shaping the learning experiences of St. John’s students, and we are excited to share it with you.
The ceremony will include brief remarks from school leaders and the Creative Learning Systems Regional Manager, a tour of the SmartLab, and the official ribbon-cutting moment.
The Smart Lab programs engage all learners in a hands-on project-based learning approach in which STEM is seamlessly integrated. The Smart Lab philosophy is “learning is different here.” Learning is highly personalized and empowers students to shape their learning to meet their interests, abilities, and learning preferences. The STEM “Smart Lab” is a 21st-century learning center. St. John’s Kindergarten-5th grade students will explore circuitry, communication and digital arts, environmental and manufacturing technology, mechanics and structures, robotics, scientific data and analysis, and software engineering. Students will make career connections and extend core content learning in the lab.
St. John’s is excited to announce the addition of Lainey Alcorn as the lab learning facilitator and looks forward to igniting our student's passion for STEM.
