Loving the St. John's Life

It’s the time of year when St. John’s opens enrollment. That means it is time for families to choose St. John’s again or for the first time. Some people might wonder what we do at our school. When I was in pre-K classes I got to learn about shapes, colors, numbers, and more. In my grade now (third) I learn about history, geography, multiplication, division, reading and parts of language, and science. That’s just the core subjects. St. John’s has so much more.

Here are the top 10 reasons that students love the St. John’s Life.

10. Chapel, because we get to celebrate God, sing, and learn with skits.

9. It’s Delicious! We have snacks every day, Jason’s Deli for lunch, and the Thanksgiving Feast!

8. Cool Clubs like Newspaper, Beta, Student Council, and Spirit Team are always happening.

7. Bringing Pets to School for Blessing of the Animals is the best!

6. Recess every day is the only way.

5. Amazing Teachers!

4. It’s fun! We have the best parties, pep rallies, carnivals, and field events!

3. Smaller Classes with lots of amazing Field Trips makes learning fun!

2. Enrichments every day of the week like SmartLab, Science, PE, Choir, Art, Library, Godly Play, and Spanish!

1. You make friends that feel like family ♥️

Another thing we really like about St. John's is our leadership! We asked our Head of School, Mrs. Gloyna, why she chose St. John’s.

"I love St. John's . I attended school here as a child along with my siblings. My dad was the school board president for a bit too. My own children also attended Beginning School and Lower School while I taught here. I will forever be an Eagle. I love faith-based learning for me personally and for my family. And I love how the students love to learn and lead by example."

St. John’s is always growing and changing. Next year SJES will have a 6th grade. We asked Mrs. Gloyna if we will have new staff next year and she said yes “because our beloved Mrs. Pugh is leaving. Her husband got a new coaching job in a different state.” Saying goodbye is hard when your teachers and friends feel like family.

Overall, being at St. John’s makes me feel happy with my school work and my friends. St. John’s is a good place to grow. It’s where we learn with purpose and lead with faith.
