St. John's Legacy Lunch at Perini Ranch Steakhouse was nothing short of perfect. Beautiful weather under the oak trees, incredible food, and a gathering of wonderful friends celebrating faith, community and tradition.

This year's honorees, The Strain Family, were recognized for their decades of love and service to St. John's. Board President Jay Hardaway, who attended St. John's, alongside Ross and Whit Strain, highlighted many ways this multigenerational family has helped shape our school, and lovingly honored and remembered the life of Steve Strain, whose legacy continues to inspire us all.

One of the most visible ways Steve contributed to St. John's is through the track, a gift that continues to bring joy and energy to our students each week, from Track Attack Tuesdays to everyday recess fun. But terere were less visible ways, too. Like filling potholes in the parking lot, repairing small things around campus, and stepping in wherever there was a need. True to his servant-hearted nature, Steve gave his time and talents quietly, always for the good of the community he loved.

Cindy Strain designed the official St. John's crest, the emblem that continues to symbolize our faith, learning and community. Her thoughtful design captured the very heart of St. John's: a balance of academic excellence, spiritual foundation, and the nurturing sense of family that defines our school. That crest has been stitched on the countless uniforms, embroidered on backpacks, printed on letterhead, and proudly displayed in classrooms and hallways for decades. It's more than a logo. It's a lasting symbol of belonging.

The spirit of St. John's shines bright because of family (and friends!) like the Strains.
