April 21, 2021

Abilene, TX— In an effort to maintain and expand solid educational experiences to families in Abilene and the surrounding community, St. John's Episcopal School is offering an extended summer care program that runs from 8 AM to 5:30 PM throughout June and July 2021.

“Families struggle to find affordable, high-quality child care that meets their needs and fits their budgets, especially during the summer months,” said Rebecca McMillon, head of school at St. John’s. “We are thrilled to offer a high-quality program that combats summer (and COVID) learning loss and promotes social and emotional development and academic learning and enrichment in a safe environment through the summer months.”

Full- and part-time options for youth 2-years through 6th grade include curriculum-based learning combined with hands-on activities provided by Abilene-community partners, including Rolling Plains Nature Center, Team Chip, Yoga, Abilene ZOO, and Abilene Public Library.

  • Full Time (Monday through Friday) is $695 per month per child
  • Part Time (Tuesday and Thursday) is $350 per month per child

To prevent COVID-19 exposure, the school will continue to implement extra safety precautions and follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) regulations throughout the summer.

January 21, 2021

Abilene, TX
— St. John’s Episcopal School will celebrate its students, parents, teachers, and school staff during National School Choice Week next Monday through January 30, 2021.

National School Choice Week is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical, public awareness effort designed to inform parents about the different schooling options they have for their children. School choice means giving parents and students access to the K-12 educational options that best suit their student’s needs.

“National School Choice Wek is a great time for parents to see what options they have in the Abilene area to best meet the needs of their children,” said Rebecca McMillon, St. John’s Head of School. “We’re thankful that Abilene families have the option to choose St. John’s, where it’s our mission to educate the whole student: mind, body and spirit.”

St. John’s Episcopal School serves students ages 2 years through the 5th grade. The school is dedicated to academic excellence, small class sizes, individualized instruction, a commitment to serving others, and the formation of strong moral character.
